Founded in France in 1991, ECOCERT is one of the first certification bodies in the world to develop a standard for "natural and organic cosmetics." ECOCERT certified products must comply with strict quality and safety criteria:

Manufacturing processes must be environmentally friendly.

Packaging must be recyclable or biodegradable.
